Delia Sheets Banks, a resident of Zachary and a native of Ethel, she died Saturday, May 19, 2007, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. She was 93.
Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home. Religious service at Redwood Baptist Church, 6480 Machost Road, Zachary, conducted by the Rev. Jessie Williams. Interment in Southern Memorial Gardens.
Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Georgiana and Wash Robinson, Baton Rouge; sister, Mary Rowe, Baton Rouge; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, Ollie and Nathaniel Brown, Jessie and Lionel Green, Charles and Stephanie Gilmore, Oliver and Rose Matthews, Tangla William, Lee Edward Matthews of Baton Rouge, Martha and Gene Jackson, George Matthews Jr., Willie Matthews and Melvin Matthews, Zachary; 17 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, three children, three sisters, three brothers, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
