DIED
Buck – In this city, at 2 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, 1887, Foster, eldest son of Charles H. Buck and Emily Frost, aged 5 years and 4 days.
Pretty little bud, plucked before its bloom,
Borne away from earth to life beyond the tomb.
Little dimpled hands, forever folded down;
Pretty little lips, that form no more a sound.
Happy little heart, that never knew an ill,
Death was cold and cruel to bid thee “Peace, be still.”
Papa’s little man, his dearest, blue-eyed boy;
Mamma’s little pet, her darling, and her joy.
Gone to meet the angels, on the other side,
In the heavenly home, forever to abide.
Give to him no tear-he’s gone to sweetest rest;
Calm your anguished heart, “whatever is, is best.”
