Author. Born in what was then Stettin, he was a military staff doctor. He is known for his posthumously published novel "J'accuse (Ich klage an) Zwei Jahre in franzoesischer Gefangenschaft". He was the father of noted Germany actor Hans Brausewetter. He also worked as a doctor in Malaga. He was interned in France in August of 1914 and then placed in various POW camps due to his previous military service. His diaries from his imprisonment were published in 2015.
