Kathleen Van Pelt, age 85, of Des Moines, Iowa, formerly of Peoria, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013, in Des Moines.
Kathleen was born on Sept. 19, 1927, in Averyville, Ill., to Otis and Ruth (Kieswetter) Barker. She married Richard E. Van Pelt on June 6, 1946, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on June 2, 2006.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Kathy Lynn (Richard) Stanton of Des Moines, Iowa; and two grandchildren, Samantha L. and David M. Stanton.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the Swan Lake Memory Garden Mausoleum.
