Wife of Herbert Arthur Starbuck
From The Salem Press, Salem, New York April 1, 1921
Mrs. Herbert A. Starbuck
The community was shocked and saddened Thursday morning to learn of the sudden death of Mrs. Herbert A. Starbuck at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred D. Burt, Pittsfield, Mass., where she and Mr. Cottrell** were visiting on their way home from Manchester, N.H., where they had been with another daughter, Mrs. Albert Alden. Emeline Cottrell Starbuck was the daughter of Samuel Tefft Cottrell and Emeline Cox Cottrell, born in White Creek in 1853. In 1871 she married H.A. Starbuck and with the exception of about fourteen years when they lived at Gouvernour and Glens Falls, the vicinity of Cambridge has been their home. The remains were brought to Cambridge and taken to the home of a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Hansen, and the funeral was held Saturday in the United Presbyterian church. Rev. E. t. Gilbert officiated and interment was in Woodlands cemetery. Besides the daughters mentioned, Mrs. Cottrell** is survived by her husband and two other daughters, Mrs. Oliver H. Perry, Eagle Bridge, and Mrs. G. W. Baldinger, Steubenville, Ohio, and by one son, H. Arthur Starbuck of Bennington.
This obituary was transcribed as written. There are two mistakes in it, they are marked by **. In both places Cottrell should be replaced with Starbuck.
