Rose "Rosie" Lillian Bushman, 85, of Newton died peacefully on Nov. 3, 2017 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center in Manitowoc.

The funeral was on Tuesday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community in Newton. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial was the Rev. David Beaudry and entombment at Calvary Chapel Mausoleum in Manitowoc.

Rose was born on March 1, 1932 in Newton, daughter of the late Edward and Rose Staddler Zinkel. On May 19, 1954 she married Robert F. Bushman at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Northeim. He preceded her in death on January 30, 2013. Rose was a loving stay at home mom and housewife. She enjoyed volunteering, including at Holy Family Hospital, Park Lawn Nursing Home, VFW and Sportsman's Club activities and event. She was a member of St. Isadore and St. Thomas the Apostle Christian Women, Grandma's Club and other card clubs. She was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community. Rose was a den mother for Cub Scouts and an avid gardener, card player and bird watcher.

Survivors include one son and two daughters-in-law, Edward and Wendy Bushman of Big Bend and Mary and Ron Hinz of Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Mark Schwoerer of Valders and Joan and James Hofmann of Sheboygan. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and their spouses; four great grandchildren. Further surviving are two sisters and one brother-in-law, Florence and Darrell McCollum and Delores Manlick; four sisters-in-law, Mildred Bogenschutz, Lucille Strauss, Mary Zinkel and Joyce Zinkel; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by one son, Jack Bushman, one great grandchild, Zanthea Bock; five bothers, Richard Zinkel, Anthony Zinkel, Herman Sprang, Carl Sprang, Art Zinekl; four sisters, Marie Fictum, Margaret Trainor, Gertrude Kohlbeck, Myrtle Sprang and may brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home of Manitowoc assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
