MARIE J. FICTUM

Marie C. Fictum, age 90, of 4704 Vista Road, Manitowoc, died early on Friday
morning, May 23, 2008, at Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center,
Manitowoc.
Marie was born on Sept. 9, 1917, in the town of Newton, daughter of the late
Edward and Emma (nee Roberts) Zinkel. She attended St. Joseph Parochial Grade
School, Alverno, and Whittier Public School. On May 24, 1938, she married Ivan
Fictum at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Alverno. He preceded her in death on
Sept. 14, 1979. Marie was employed at Northern Laboratories of Manitowoc for
several years and then at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center as a nurses' aid
for 14 years. After her retirement, she continued to volunteer her time at Holy
Family for an additional 14 years. Marie was a member of the St. Mary Rosary
and Altar Society, as well as the Manitowoc County Homemakers.

Marie was also preceded in death by two sisters: Margaret Trainor and Gertrude
Kohlbeck; one brother: Anton Zinkel and one stepsister: Myrtle Sprang.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 26, 2008, at the
Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, and at 11 a.m. at
St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial
will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc, on Tuesday morning, May 27, 2008, at 9 a.m.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, May 25, 2008, at the
Pfeffer Funeral Home from 3 until 6 p.m., where a prayer service conducted by
Deacon Alan Boeldt will conclude the visitation.
The visitation will continue on Monday morning at the Pfeffer Funeral Home from
9 a.m. until the time of the Morning Prayer service at 10:30 am.
A special thanks to the Dr. (private) and the Rivers Bend Nursing Home Staff for
their high quality and compassionate care toward our mother.
