UNITED PRESBYTERIAN NEWSPAPER ALLEGHENY COUNTY PA: CARNAHAN - Aug 21,1880: "MRS. SUSANNAH, wife of Mr. Pollard Carnahan of Carnahan Creek, Pottawatomie county,Kansas, aged 35 years,5 mos,& 7 days. Mrs. Carnahan was a daughter of Mordecai & Keziah Cockrell, & was born in Clay county, Illinois, March 14,1845, removed with her parents from Illinois to Missiouri, and afterwards to Kansas, & was married to Pollard Carnahan, Sept 17,1867. Her death was very unexpected to her friends, & seemed to be so to herself. She was the mother of six children, five sons & one daughter. One son preceded her to the eternal world, & another (the youngest) has followed after her.There are left behind a bereaved & lonely husband & four children to mourn her loss."
