He was best known to television viewers for both his roles on the daytime soap operas "Days of Our Lives," where he played 'Don Craig' from 1977 to 1985 and "Santa Barbara," where he played C.C. Capwell from 1986 to 1993. Born Jed Allan Brown, he made his acting debut on the television series "Love of Life" in 1964. Besides "Days of Our Lives" and "Santa Barbara", he appeared in numerous other television series, both daytime and prime time, such as "Lassie," "Mod Squad," "Adam-12," "Love, American Style," "Marcus Welby, M.D.," "Port Charles," "General Hospital," and "Beverly Hills, 90210." He also appeared in such films as "Ice Station Zebra" (1968), "The Photographer" (1974), "Zero Tolerance" (1994), and "Arlette" (1997). He also appeared in commercials for several retail businesses and hosted the game show "Celebrity Bowling" in the 1970s. His work on "Days of Our Lives" was honored with two Soapy Awards for Outstanding Actor in both 1978 and 1979 and one Daytime Emmy nomination in 1979.
