She was born December 1, 1944 in Plymouth, daughter of the late Edwin and Laura (Wimmler) Klemme. She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1963.
On December 7, 1963 she married Charles Meives at Salem UCC in Plymouth. The couple lived near Elkhart Lake and Howards Grove following their marriage.
Kathy had been employed at Borden Foods in Plymouth and also worked at the Sheboygan Rehab Center for five years.
She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth. She was a past member of the Junior Ladies League in Elkhart Lake and was active as a Den Mother in the Cub Scout program and leader in the Girl Scouts. Kathy also sold painting supplies for the Artex and Tri-Chem Companies. Kathy enjoyed her hobby of visiting with her friends on CB Radio and was a member of the Quad County CB Club.
after suffering a stroke early in her life, Kathy struggled with disabilities and from time to time lived at Rocky Knoll where she served as president on the Resident Council. For the past four years she has been a resident at Sunny Ridge.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura (Jeffery) Krause of the Town of Sheboygan Falls, Darlene (David) Arens of Plymouth and one son Wayne (Darlene) Meives of Sheboygan Falls, six grandchildren, Matthew Krause, Lance, Spenser and Chante' Arens, Dustin and Dakota Meives. She is also survived by two brothers Harold (Shirley) Klemme of the Town of Sheboygan Falls, Franklin (Virginia) Klemme of the Town of Plymouth, three sisters, Roma Theel of Chilton, Luella Gau of the Town of Sheboygan Falls and Gloria (Arnold) Kleinhans of Plymouth and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant son Charles, two brothers Milton and Harris, her stepmother Cora Klemme and her long time friend and companion Phillip Poissen.
