Potsdam, August 28 - Basil Moffett, 26, died yesterday of Typhoid fever after an illness of about fortnight. Moffett, a resident of Swan Street, contracted the disease from unpasteurized milk, local and district heath authorities announced following investigation. The milk was purchased outside Potsdam village.
He was born here May 31, 1916, son of Harley and Florence Crump Moffett and had always lived here. He married Lena Gonyou, who survives. Also surviving are his parents, brothers and sisters. Funeral will be at 10 am Saturday at St. Mary’s with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
