Clyde E. Amsden, long-time Browns Mills resident, passed away on February 7, 2019 at the age of 90.

Clyde was born and raised near Londonderry Vermont. After entering the Army as a young man he met and married his future wife in Germany and brought his young family back to the U.S. to settle in Browns Mills. His Army career ended with a year of service in Vietnam. After a 20-year career as a cook in the Army he also worked for the Yardville Correctional Institution and New Lisbon Developmental School. Clyde was a devoted husband and father and an avid gardener who shared his bounty freely with his friends and neighbors.

Clyde is survived by his daughter, Dorothy L. Amsden and his son Bryan R. Amsden. He is also predeceased by his wife Lore Amsden and their son Garry C. Amsden.

The family will hold a memorial service to celebrate Clyde's life on March 30, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Brethren Church in Presidential Lakes NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Messiah Lutheran Brethren Church, 530 Virginia Drive, Browns Mills, NJ 08015 or the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
