Carrie Poindexter, 74, of Gunnison, died 18 March 1977 at the Shelby Clinic in Shelby.

Funeral services will be at St. James Baptist Church in Gunnison. Rev. Larry Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in the Gunnison Cemetery. Bea's Century Funeral Home of Greenville has charge of arrangements.

Survivors include three daughters, Rosie Lee Shade of Boston, Mass., Willie Mae Taylor of Mound Bayou and Patsy Lee Shade of Gunnison; and two sons, Johnny Shade of Gunnison and Leroy Shade of Florida. Also, two sisters, Mrs. Addie Philip and Lillie Mae Poindexter, both of Chicago, Ill.; a brother, Fred Poindexter of Los Angeles, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
