LOEFFLER, Albert - Passed away at the K-W Health Centre, Grand River Hospital on Friday, March 29, 2013. Albert was born 92 years ago in Riga, Latvia to parents Gustav Loeffler and the former Alice von Lysander. He resided at Luther Village in Waterloo and was formerly of New Hamburg. Albert was a long-time member and pillar of the Canadian Baltic Immigrant Aid Society. Beloved husband of the late Gertrud (nee Shiemann) Loeffler who predeceased him in 2009. Loving father of Gabriele (Christian) Boettcher of Brussels, Anne Loeffler of New Hamburg, and Andrea (Holger) von Weyhe of Kitchener. Cherished grandfather of Erik, Martin, Olaf, Peter, Ingrid and Karl. Lovingly remembered by his sister Anneliese Loeffler of Germany and sister-in-law Lisa Dickey of Quesnel, BC, and many nieces ad nephews. He was predeceased by sister Gertrud Arnold. A memorial visitation will be held at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. Interment of ashes in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Wellesley Township, at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Baltic Old Age Fund or the Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated by the family.
