Daniel L. Book

Daniel L. Book of Shirleysburg died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Daniel Dubbs, of Sterlin, Colo., on August 12, 1945.

He was born on August 12, 1883, in Cromwell Township, the son of Henry Book and Mary Jane Walls Book.

On September 22, 1921, he was united in marriage to Naomi Grove. Mrs. Grove survives as do the following children: Sgt. William Book, serving in France; Mary (Mrs. William Cowan) of Chambersburg; and Alma and Sarah Kay both at home. Also surviving are three brothers and one sister: Raymond Book of Youngwood; Isaac Book of Miami, Fla.; Frank Book of Three Springs R.D. 1; and Mrs. Alice Dubbs at whose home he died.

He has been a resident of Shirleysburg for the past 16 years.

The funeral service will be held in the Methodist Church, Shirleysburg, at 2 o'clock on Friday afternoon, the Rev. James Garthoff, pastor of that church, and the Rev. Richard Meyers, pastor of the Baptist Church of Saltillo, officiating. Interment will be made in the Orbisonia Cemetery by Ott's service. Friends may call at the Book home in Shirleysburg until the hour of the service.
