Nancy was the daughter of Col. James Bennett and Margaret (Rosenberger) Hall. Nancy was named after her Hall family grandmother and her birth date was taken from an entry in the old Hall family bible. The Rev. Summers married Nancy and Daniel E. Wotring in 1857; they had six children: James, Robert Lee, Daniel J., Cora (Maphis), Inez and Blanche Virginia. Her funeral was performed by the Rev. W.J. Smith.
