At the age of 16 in 1886, Daniel, was seriously wounded in a hunting accident. It physically affected him for the rest of his life. Daniel lived and worked as a Farmer and was reportedly very successful; he passed away unmarried at the age of 46. Daniel was buried here next to his parents. He was a member of Mt. Olive Church, Hayfield, and his pastor, the Rev. W.H. Sampsell performed the funeral service.
