Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Clara Johannsen, age 96, of McMinnville, TN., died
Saturday, April 6, 2019, at St. Thomas River Park Hospital.
She was born August 9, 1922 in Gary, Indiana, a homemaker, a member of
Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and served her country with the U.S. Navy
during World War II. Mrs. Johannsen was preceded in death by her parents
Joseph and Clara Gorgei Danyi, her husband Eldon Edward Johannsen, sister Margaret "Meg" Verplank and husband Grover, and sister-in-law Harriet Danyi.
Survivors include her sons, Chris (Darlene) Johannsen, and Greg (Donna)
Johannsen of Knoxville, Tn.; grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica) Johannsen,
Rebekah Johannsen and fiancé Dylan McPeak, Bryan (Brooke) Johannsen,
and Jeri (Jason) Carr, great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Mae Johannsen, Alivia
Grace Johannsen , Dalton Edward Johannsen, and Jack Allen Carr, and brother Joseph Danyi.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2019 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Matthew Johannsen will officiate.
Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Rev. Kerry Walker will
officiate at the cemetery, and Military grave rites will be administered by
American Legion Post 173 and V.F.W. Post 5064. Visitation with the Johannsen family will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the parlors of McMinnville
