Son of Hermon Strong and Hannah Dolph.. Married Phoebe Peet... 8 children.. 1880 census lists him as a Doctor of Medicine.. Lived 1860 Grove Township, 1861 Green, 1863-1867 Milesburg( Centre, County) , 1870-1872 Beech Creek 1880 Wayne... Said to of been an Surgeon's Assistant during the Civil War, but that cannot be proven and there is a family tale about him losing a pension due to patient neglect and alcoholism(??).. Also may of returned home on the 2nd of July in 1863(middle of Gettysburg)…. His Brother-in-law and other family members were not very kind to him or his family.. In 1900 his widow was living in Corryville PA. with their oldest daughter and according to family was poorer than a church mouse.. Possibly died in a county home(?) burial not clear or that of his 2 children who died young...
