Son of Hermon Strong and Hannah Dolph.. Married Susan R. Yale.. His Brother Charles married her Sister Lydia.. Some confusion on his Brother and their Brother-in-laws being ministers.. Buried in a plot not far from his Mother.. No children foundJohn Gott Strong (son of Herman and Hannah Strong) b. April 6, 1837.

He was a civil engineer by profession, and published a map of one of the counties of Maryland, and plans and charts of several towns.

In the Autumn of 1862, he enlisted in the army of U. S. Vols., and by repeated re-enlistments continued in the army until the close of the war. He was wounded in the Shenandoah Valley under command of Gen. Sheridan, taken prisoner carried to Richmond and, while unable to walk all that time, was kept there in prison for eight months nearly starved to death, but afterwards exchanged and entered anew into the great conflict.

He married March 13, 1869, Susan Bosetta Yale b. in Willsville, N. Y., born March 18, 1846 (dau. of Ozias Yale and Roxa Mehitable ). He resides at Portville, Cattaraugus Co., N. Y., and is a manufacturer of blinds and sashes.
