MULLINS - Dorothy Rowell McMillan, 84, died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005 at Marion County Medical Center in Marion.
She was born September 23, 1921 in Marion County, a daughter of the late William Henry and Sadie Mae Gleason Rowell. She was predeceased by her husband, C.L. McMillan in May of 1969 and by four brothers, J.D., Travis, Ralph and her twin brother, Donnie and three sisters, Thelma, Annie Mae and Rae.
Dorothy was an active member of First Baptist of Mullins and her Sunday School Class. She was a hospital secretary at Mullins Hospital for over thirty years, and even volunteered at the Marion County Medical Center in the gift shop after her retirement. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and was loved by everyone for her generous and caring spirit.
Survivors include three sons, William Lyde "Bo" McMillan, Sr. (Susan) of Mullins, Stephen L. McMillan of Myrtle Beach, and Jon David McMillan (Beth) of Murrells Inlet; a sister, Beulah Foxworth of Marion; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005 at First Baptist Church of Mullins. Burial will follow the service at McMillan Cemetery in Mullins.
