Born in Harpers on May 12, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Clarence W. and Jennie Bohn Wentling. She retired from the NLSD where she had worked in the cafeteria at the E. Hanover Elementary School for 35 years.
Margaret was a member of the Ono United Methodist Church and had taught the 4&5 year old Sunday school class for many years. She was also a member of the Ono Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma and mawmaw, and wore a friendly smile wherever she went. She especially loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s sporting events, and she enjoyed dinner with friends, traveling, camping and boating. But most of all, she loved the Lord and spent time each morning in meditation and prayer.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters Karen M. wife of Wesley Heckman of Mercersburg and Beverly A. wife of Gene Ulrich of Annville; grandchildren Ryan husband of Heather Ulrich, Erin Ulrich, fiancé of Todd Dresch, Ann wife of Brad Fitz, Aimee Heckman and Allison Heckman; great grandchildren Anna, Samuel, Maggie, Rowan and Tugger; brothers Paul Wentling of Fredericksburg, George Wentling of Lancaster and her sister Erma Herr of Palmyra;
She was preceded in death by her brothers Eugene, Howard and Russell and a sister Edna Barr.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 1, 2014, at 6 PM at the Ono United Methodist Church. A visitation with the family will follow the service. Interment will be at the Salem Evangelical Cemetery, Ono at the convenience of the family.
