William Douglas Waldrop was born June 29, 1946 in Beckville, Texas to the late Francis Crum and Mary Grace Williams Waldrop. Doug was the youngest of seven children. He graduated from Beckville in 1964, was a graduate of Panola College, and Stephen F. Austin State University. Doug married Patsy Nan Wedgeworth in 1968, celebrated 51 years of marriage, and raised two children in a loving Christian home.
Mr. Waldrop worked as maintenance supervisor for Texas Utilities Mining Company and retired after 27 years of service. He was a devoted member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church in the Snap Community where he served as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many years. He was instrumental in establishing the Clayton Volunteer Fire Department and served on the board in his community.
Mr. Waldrop enjoyed his family, working on the ranch, and traveling to West Texas to attend his grandchildren’s baseball games, and other activities they were involved in.
