Denver P. Moede
Denver Phillip Moede passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Willowdale Nursing Home in New Holstein. He was the son of Richard and Ruth (Wenzel) Moede. He was born on November 22, 1924 in Rockland Township, Manitowoc County, WI. He attended Rockland Country School and Brillion High School.
He married Ruth Anne Gierke on April 17, 1948 in New Holstein at St. John Evangelical and Reformed Church, New Holstein. He was employed at Brillion Iron Works, The Manitowoc Engineering Company, Machinery Products Speciality in Plymouth, H.G. Weber Company in Kiel and Tecumseh Products in New Holstein.
He was a mink rancher from 1956 until his retirement in 1990. He was President of the Kettle Moraine Mink Breeder’s Association in 1977. He is a past Master of New Holstein-Calumet Lodge 172 F&AM. He is also a past Area Administrator for the Grand Lodge of Wisconsin. Denver belongs to St. John United Church of Christ in New Holstein.
Survivors include, three daughters, Susan (Ken) Wolfe, Seattle, WA; Beverly Moede (special friend Barbara Zee), Seattle, WA; Barbara Moede (special friend Eugene Dvorachek), Manitowoc and four sons, Robert (Christine) Moede of New Holstein; Edward (Mary) Moede of New Holstein; Phillip (Debbie) Moede ofHilbert; and Tom Moede of New Holstein. Seven grandchildren, Adam (Michelle) Dembsky, Seattle, WA; Michael Moede (Leanne) of Fitchburg, Amanda Moede of Appleton; Jason Moede of Neenah; Shawn (Erin) Moede of Cedarburg; Kimberly Krueger (Corey) of Manitowoc, and Jennifer Moede of Manitowoc. Eight great-grandchildren, Claire, Elsa and Vincent Moede, Helena Dembsky, Travis Schmitt, Emma and Brody Krueger, and Quinn Moede, Three step-grandchildren, Randy Krerowitz, Hilbert; Allison (Martin) Speak and Dan (Amy) Wolfe, Seattle, WA. Five step-great-grandchildren, Ashley Talcott, Mitchell, Sage and Grace Speak and Isobel Wolfe of Seattle, WA. One Sister, Evangeline Anderews of Lake Havasu, AZ and one sister-in-law, Florence Moede of Reedsville. Nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, his parents, one sister, one brother, and one brother-in-law.
Per his wishes there was no service. He will be cremated and burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery at Reedsville.
