Daughter of the late William Harry Carlisle and Anne Melinda Jeffries Carlisle. She was a graduate of Humes High School in Memphis, attended Gulf Park College for Woman, Northwestern University and the University of Hawaii, where she earned a BA in speech. She later earned a masters degree in education from the University of Southern California. She was a first grade teacher. She was married to the late Richard Kemp Easley, a career USAF pilot, for 58 years. While in Virginia she was a docent at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, conducting art tours for local school children. When stationed in Fort Walton Beach, FL, she received the Eglin Air Force Base “military wife of the year” award. Their final assignment was in Cocoa Beach, where they retired. She is survived by her three daughters, Anne Smith (Ray), Genevieve “Cay” Gasque and Melinda Chasteen (Jeff); grandchildren, Rachel, Cameron, Michael and Matthew; great- grandchildren, Charley, Alice and Cleo.
