She Kitty was a beautiful sweet Himalayan. Her exact year of birth is unknown but was probably about 2004. My first sighting of her was in the fall of 2008 when her yard mate Harley (also a Himalayan and no doubt related), brought her into our back yard to eat dry cat food on our patio. Harley had previously brought over another of his yard mates, an older male named Twinkie, to eat food that we left on our front porch. Both Twinkie and She Kitty stayed and lived the remainder of their lives with us. I had first become acquainted with Harley in the summer and fall of 2007 when he "helped" me put down a natural stone pathway in our back yard. He would constantly lay on every stone I was trying to level so I nicknamed him Rocky.

Another loose Himalayan related to both Harley and She Kitty was the mother (Momma Kitty) to three kittens; two of whom were long-haired Himalayan types, a charcoal male (Shadow) and a light greyish female (Smokey), and a smallish short-haired medium grey male with white paws (Boots), who took up residence in a large commercial compressor on our property. The two male kittens are still here with us but their sister Smokey eventually joined the mom around the southwest corner and if living is probably still there. (Momma Kitty and all of the kittens were trapped and spayed / neutered.)

The neighbor did eventually inquire about Twinkie but had no objection to him, She Kitty or Harley being at our house. I don't know where Harley aka Rocky ended up. He continued to show up here to eat for quite some time but his visits eventually became less frequent and was last seen coming and going around the northwest corner where it is assumed he had relocated himself.

Through the early years She Kitty was generally more attached to me, but over time she also sought out the company of my husband and had recently become quite attached to him as well, perhaps even preferring his attention and company to mine most of the time. He was receptive and loving to her in return and I know her passing is as painful to him as it is to me. As we age, we seem to have become even more effected and sensitive to our feline family.

~ The backyard is a lessor place without our beloved She Kitty. May you rest peacefully our dearest girl, we sorely grieve your passing and will forever miss you. ~
