Rose H. Grenier, age 96, formerly of Two Rivers, died on Thursday evening, July 23, 2009, at St. Mary's Home in Manitowoc, surrounded by her loving family.

Rose was born June 14, 1913, in St. Paul, Minn., daughter of the late Ferdinand and Emile (Bauer) Karl. On March 30, 1940, she married Robert T. Grenier at St. Mark Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1992. Rose was a homemaker most of her life, raising her three children and helping her husband on the family farm north of Manitowoc. She was an excellent cook and baker, enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, loved fishing with her husband in Minnesota and especially spending time with her family.

Survivors include: her three children; one son and daughter-in-law: Marlon (Bonnie) Grenier, Two Rivers; two daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara (Wayne) VanEss, Mishicot; Carolyn (Ken) Kohlwey, Two Rivers; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Emile and Ferdinand Karl; her husband, Robert Grenier; and numerous brothers, sisters, and in-laws.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2009, at the Klein and Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Gerald Foley, with burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Hwy 310, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, July 27, 2009, at Klein and Stangel Funeral Home, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary's Nursing Home for the wonderful and compassionate care given to Rose during the five years she lived there, especially Nurse Mary and her Aid, Deb.

Her family was held dearly in her heart. She loved spending time with them, and was a devoted Mother and Grandmother. Rest in Peace, Mom.
