Harriet A. Hooper, age 81, of Harmony West, Manitowoc, formerly of Two Rivers, died on Wednesday evening, April 29, 2009, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Harriet was born on Jan. 14, 1928, in Two Rivers, daughter of late Harry and Ella (Wildman) Klein. She attended and graduated from Washington High School in Two Rivers. On Jan. 26, 1946, she married Robert L. Hooper Sr. in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 2004. Harriet worked at Mirro Aluminum and Hamilton Manufacturing in Two Rivers, retiring from Hamilton's at the age of 67. She was also a member of the Submarine Veterans Auxiliary. Harriet was a social butterfly. She loved jewelry, dolphins, playing the 10,000 dice game and bingo at the Harmony Home, cheer leading for Patti and Deanna's pool team, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include two sons and two daughters-in-law: Bill and Judy Hooper, Town of Kossuth, Robert L. Jr. and Crystal Hooper, Iowa, four daughters and two sons-in-law: Sally and Ron Kornely, Mishicot, Barb Hooper and fiance Gary Greenwood, Manitowoc, Pattie and Ken Kubichka, Two Rivers, Deanna Hooper, Two Rivers; 29 grandchildren: Shawntel Dellman, Brandon Hooper, Stacey Carlson, Tonia Willbanks, Nikki Ruttner, Jamie Hooper, Jolene Hooper, Rhonda Luckow, Craig Kornely, Robin Egbert, Jon Egbert, Chastity Larson, Cherich Debauche, Charo Kopidlansky, Robert L. Hooper III, Christine Hooper, Tina Hooper, Stephanie Meunier, Justin Hooper, Stephanie Hooper, Dave Hooper, Tommy Hooper, Tony Hooper, Elyse Hooper, Chris Hooper, Nate Hooper, Jennifer E. King, Jerome J. LeGreve, Joshua A. LeGreve; 43 great grandchildren; four brothers and five sisters-in-law: Eldon (Leone) Klein, Leon Klein, Daniel (Sandy) Klein, Kermit (Mary Ann) Klein, Marie Klein, and Georgianna Klein, all of Two Rivers; two sisters and three brothers-in-law: Delores (Lowell) Rice, Green Bay; Deanne (Donald) Hallwachs, Two Rivers, and Hollis Hooper, Belvedere, S.C.

She was preceded in death by a son: Tom Hooper, two grandchildren: Amanda Hooper and Mindy LeGreve, two great-grandchildren: Ashley and Coty, and three brothers and one sister-in-law: Ivan Klein, Marvin (Florence) Klein, and Gene Klein; and two infant brothers: Harry and Menard.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2009, (TOMORROW) at Emanuel United Methodist Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Sonia Alvarado with burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Hwy 310, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, May 1, 2009, (TONIGHT), at Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers, from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Emanuel United Methodist Church, Two Rivers from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m.

The Klein & Stangel Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Two Rivers is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Holy Family Hospital nurses who cared for her near the end. Also, the family would like to send a very special thank you to the caretakers at the Harmony West, especially Pang, for the compassionate care given to their mom.

Harriet was a very special mom, gramma, and great-gramma, and she will be deeply loved and missed by all who knew her.
