Mrs. Mary Thompson, an estimable lady of Palmyra township, and one of the early settlers of this county, died, Friday, of typhoid fever, at the ripe old age of seventy-seven years, eight months and five days. The funeral took place yesterday, from the Royal Oak Church, in Palmyra township."
Obit of her sister Sarah Steen states their parents John Steffy and Elizabeth Killinger married in 1799 in Wythe County, Virginia. All of the eleven Steffy children were born at the old Virginia homestead in Wythe County.
