Obituary | "Funeral services for Alf Connor, of Avinger, were to be at noon Thursday at the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. Conwright officiating. Burial was to be in the Mims Chapel Cemetery in Avinger. Mr. Connor died Monday night from gunshot wounds. Survivors include his widow, Vassie Connor, of Avinger; five sons, Joe Alfred Connor, of Richman, California, John L. Connor, of Los Angeles, California, Samuel Connor, of Dallas, Alfred Connor and Arthur Connor, both of Avinger; two daughters, Sharon Connor and Dorothy Connor, both of Avinger; three sisters, Eva Mae Davis and Annie Bell Connor, both of Avinger, and Beulah Moeney, of Stockton, California; a brother, Jake Connor, of Avinger; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren."
