Geraldine "Gerry" Louise Culichia, 89, of Tiffin and formerly of Columbus, died at 7:25 PM, Sunday March 21, 2021 at St. Francis Home.
Gerry Culichia was born in Tiffin January 30, 1932 to Connie (O'Connell) and Carl Schauder. She attended St. Mary Grade School and is a 1950 graduate of Calvert High School. She married Pete Culichia June 27, 1953 at St. Mary Catholic Church. They began their married life together in Tiffin before moving to Sandusky and then Columbus where they resided for over 50 years. They moved back to Tiffin in 2014. Pete and Gerry built a "cabin" at Lake Mohawk which they enjoyed for many years. Gerry was very artistic. She painted, was a weaver, a knitter and was a very accomplished ceramic artist.
Gerry is survived by her daughter, Lisa; son, Sam; granddaughter, Samantha; sister-in-law, Joanna Buckley; brother -in-law, Charles Culichia; several cousins; and many nieces and nephews.
Gerry was predeceased by her husband of 63 years in 2016. Also preceding her are her two brothers and their wives, Tom and Ida Schauder and Dick and Coleen Schauder; brother-in-law, Joe Buckley; sister-in-law, Catherine Culichia; and sister and brother-in-law Toni and Jim Schostek.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be private for the family with burial in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. The Mass will be live-streamed at stmarychurch.com, Friday, March 26, 2021 at 12:00 Noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Francis Home, Alzheimer's Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.
