Joseph Hartunian, 76,, son of the late Smpad and Lucy Boyajian Hartunian, was educated in Troy Public Schools and was a 1945 graduate of Troy High School. After high school, Joseph went to work in his family business at Wilson Cash Market on Madison Avenue in Albany. Thereafter in 1956, he moved to Evanston, Illinois, where he married his wife of 47 years. In 1961 he returned to the Capital District area, where he and his late brother Edward opened Skyview Star Supermarket in Latham, a well known grocery store which they owned and operated until it closed in 1994. Joseph enjoyed fishing, gardening in his yard, reading and spending time with his family and many friends.

In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by his daughter and husband and his son. He was predeceased by his 21 yearold daughter, Lynne, who died in the 1988 explosion of Pan Am 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. He is the grandfather of 7; brother of two, including the late Edward Hartunian . He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
