"Mrs. Hattie Parks, wife of Thomas Parks, a well known colored man who has resided here for years, died this morning at 4:30 at her home on South Barbee street, of pneumonia. She had only been sick a short time. The deceased was 42 years old and leaves a husband and several children. The funeral will be held tomorrow after noon at 2:30 from the A. M. E. church by the pastor and interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery. It will be under the auspices of Queen Esther Court."
