Georgianna Halter Carll, 83, of Lower Alloways Creek Township, surrounded by her family, went Home to her Lord on May 14th, but not before sharing her love, prayers, and words of wisdom with them all. Our hearts break now, but she will be happy always.

"Georgie" was born in Deerfield, NJ to her beloved parents, George and Viola Casper Halter and raised in Mannington. She was a 1954 graduate of Salem High School. She met her forever sweetheart, James L. Carll, Sr. at the Salem County Fair and they married in 1954. They made their home on Jim's family farm, where they raised their six children. She was a dedicated member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Fenwick Grange No. 20, 4-H, and the Fair Association, and an avid Phillies fan. She was the president of the Lower Alloways Creek Democrats Club. Over many years, she worked at the bakery at Cowtown, Hiresdale Dairy, Salem Community College, and the LAC Zoning Board. She retired from her role as administrative assistant at Tri-County Community Action in 2009. She also sold Avon for over 30 years.

Georgianna is survived by her children James "Bear" Carll, Jr. (Mikki), Joan Heil (Richard), Jennifer Carll Simon (Paul), George Carll (Mekdes), and Jean Sharp (Eric); 18 grandchildren Bethany (Dan), Betsy (Keith), ViAnna, Lauren, Chelsea (Lucas), Luke, R.J., Jeremy, Eli (Alyssa), Mikaela, Andrei, Daniel, Jacob, Nathan, Megan, Abigail, Sarah, and Hannah; 5 great-grandchildren Dusty, Maggie, Makenzie, Natalie, and Sam; sister Joan Davis; brother-in-law Donald Sheffield (Bonny); many nieces, nephews, and their children/grandchildren; extended family members, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband in their 45th year of marriage, her daughter Janice Bernard (Michael), her sister Viola Sheffield, and her brother-in-law Jack Davis.

Georgianna was an asset in her community, and her knowledge of local and family histories was unmatched. She could often be seen at local sporting events, plays, and other activities in support of her grandchildren and others, catching up with friends and making new ones. She was affectionately known as "Mom" and "Mom-Mom" to countless honorary children and grandchildren, and often wrote letters to friends and family near and far. Her family would like to thank the staff of Friends Village and all of the kind and capable medical professionals who cared for Georgianna and supported her family.

On Saturday, May 18th, visitors may call at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Friesburg (Elmer), NJ from 9:00am-12:00pm. Services will commence at noon, followed directly by interment in the church cemetery. Woodside Funeral Home Salem/Quinton, NJ.
