Elsa L. Illig, 90, of Louise Corners, Town of Schleswig, died Monday morning November 1, 1993, at Heritage Nursing Home, Sheboygan where she was a resident the past 3 years. She is the former Elsa Berth born April 27, 1903, in Millersville, daughter of the late Frank and Wilhelmina Wilke Berth. She attended school in Millersville.

On December 15, 1928, she married August R. Illig at Haven Lutheran Church, Haven. She was employed at the former Cleveland Canning Factory for approximately 9 years. Her husband August preceded her in death on September 5, 1977. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Collins, and a former member of Zion Lutheran Church and Ladies Aide, Louis Corners.

Survivors include one son Reinhold (Carita) Illig of Terre Haute, Indiana; four daughters Marzine Rautmann of Ada, Caroline (Roland) Fleisner of Cleveland, Elizabeth Drews of Sheboygan, Corrine (Eugene) Hintz of Kiel; 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers, 2 sisters, 1 granddaughter, 2 sons-in-law (Jerome Rautmann and Harry Drews Jr.)

Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 4, at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel with Rev. Arnold Rudal, pastor of St. Peters Lutheran Church, Collins officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Louis Corners. Friends may call Meiselwitz Funeral Home on Thursday, from 4 p.m., until the time of service.
