Services for Johnie Alford Sr., 75, will be at 11 a.m. today at Tillie’s Memorial Chapel in San Bernardino. He died of cancer July 10 at his home in Moreno Valley. Burial will be in Olivewood Cemetery in Riverside.
Mr. Alford was born in Clarksville [Red River Co.], Texas. He had lived in Moreno Valley since 1971, when he opened his own landscaping business. Before that, he worked for Kaiser Steel in Fontana. He retired in the early 1980s.
Mr. Alford is survived by his wife, LouSetta; three sons, Kenneth and Dennis, both of Moreno Valley, and Johnie Jr. of Highland; five daughters, Florida Mae Richardson of Barstow and Carol, Karla, Agnes and Christina, all of Moreno Valley; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Alfred of Moreno Valley; and a sister, Florida Bee Priestly of Lubbock, Texas.
