Author of world-wide notoriety, Hans Christian Andersen, originally shared with this plot with his friend, Edward Collin and Collin's wife, Henriette. Around 1920, when certain public criticisms arose concerning the Collin's treatment of their "adopted son," H. C. Andersen, a descendant of the Collin family had Edward and Henriette's tombstone moved to the family plot at Frederik's Cemetery so that Andersen's tombstone now stands alone. From this statement, the bodies of the Collins are still resting here.
