Mr. Glen Garrison, age 71, left this life for his eternal heavenly home on June 24, 2019.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Sergeant.

After returning home to Ben Hur, Arkansas, he worked in the forestry and timber industry as a buyer for Tiller Tie Company of Dardanelle and Clarksville Wood Products.

Following his retirement from the Arkansas Forestry Commission, Glen and his brother, Joe, fulfilled his dream of creating Falling Water Horse Camp on land homesteaded by their great-grandfather Howard Standridge. He built the Horse Camp using his many skills and talents; surveying, making roads, harvesting trees, sawing lumber, and building structures.

He was kind, generous, and hospitable. He maintained enduring friendships all through his life, and caught his friends’ enthusiasm, doing his best to help see their projects through. He saw the best in people, and was never one to judge or criticize.

His most devoted friend was his wife of 49 years and 11 months, Linda, who anticipated his every need, from assisting in work to caring for him through his last year of life.

Glen was a member of Ben Hur Free Will Baptist Church from age 14 and served as a deacon and the Sunday School Superintendent. He is survived by his wife Linda; daughter Michelle Bishop and her husband Allen; granddaughter Jessica Keith and her husband Clayton; grandson Ben Bishop; and great-granddaughter Lucy Kate Keith. Glen’s other survivors include his brother, Glendon; sister, Caroline Cooper; sister, Marsha Willis; their families; and countless friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Sybil Garrison; grandparents, Joe and Nancy Standridge; and brother, Joe.

A visitation for Glen will be held at Lemley Funeral Home in Atkins, Arkansas from 6-8pm on Thursday, June 27th. Funeral services will be held at Ben Hur Freewill Baptist Church in Ben Hur, Arkansas at 2pm on Friday, June 28th, with Reverends Glendon and Scott Garrison officiating.
