Professional Football Player. For six seasons (1960 and 1962 to 1966), he played at the linebacker position in the American Football League with the Boston Patriots and Miami Dolphins. Born John Lawrence Rudolph, he attended Henry Grady High School in Georgia and played collegiate football at Georgia Tech. Selected by the Detroit Lions during the 17th round of the 1959 NFL Draft, he ended up with the Boston Patriots of the newly formed American Football League. He totaled 75 career regular season games and held the distinction as being on the Miami Dolphins roster during their inaugural season in 1966. Following his playing career, he coached at the high school level. He was the father for former NFL player Coleman Rudolph.
