The middle of five children born to a New York City police lieutenant and a homemaker, from earliest childhood she dreamed of appearing on stage. Among films she had roles in were 'Boardwalk' (1979), 'Falling in Love' (1984), 'Bed & Breakfast' (1991), 'Just Looking' (1999) and 'Brooklyn Roses' (2018). On television, she appeared in such series and daytime dramas as 'The Edge of Night,' 'Simon & Simon,' 'Quincy, M.E.,' 'Kate & Allie,' 'Guiding Light,' 'Law & Order' and 'The Job.' Colton, who was married to actor Joe Silver until his death in 1989, died of age-related natural causes at the Actors Fund Home in Englewood, New Jersey.
