Murder victim. A young life taken far too soon. Placed in an orphanage shortly after her birth, she was adopted by Patric and Geraldine Kriégel (pronounced kree-AY-zhul) in 2006 and came to live with them in the Newtown Park housing estate in Leixlip, County Kildare, Ireland. Although her parents had no cultural links to Russia, they made sure Ana kept connected to her Russian heritage, such as keeping her original given name. She disappeared after leaving home, thinking she was going to meet a boy she liked. Her body was found three days later in Glenwood House, a derelict 19th-century farmhouse. Two local boys, both aged 13, were arrested and ultimately found guilty of her murder. May this beloved child rest in heavenly peace.
