She got her big break in 1968 when she was cast in the recurring roles of Amy Jennings and Nora Collins on ABC's soap opera "Dark Shadows." Her next role was her most memorable one as Violet, the spoiled gum chewing rich girl opposite Gene Wilder in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." She guest-starred on a number of television series such as "Flipper," "Search for Tomorrow," "The Brady Bunch" and "The Magical World of Disney; and three made for television movies, "The Neon Ceiling," "The Man Who Could Talk to Kids" and "If I Love You, Am I Trapped Forever?" Although she is best remembered as Violet, her most successful role was that of Allison, which she played in 130 episodes of the PBS television series "The Electric Company" from 1972 to 1973. Her first and only MGM role was in the 1978 movie "Zero to Sixty" with Larry Wilder. Her last role was in the 1993 movie "Be My Baby" with Wim Arquette. She would later appear in two documentaries, the 1996 "Dark Shadows 30th Anniversary Tribute," and "Pure Imagination: The Story of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" in 2001. She also appeared in single episodes of the television series "After They Were Famous" in 2003 and "Beyond the Marquee" in 2012.
