He was born on October 1, 1924 in Kewaunee, son of the late Bart and Theresa (Blahnik) Kobes. Edward served in the US Army during WWII. In 1948 he married the former Dolores Koenig in Tisch Mills and she preceded him in death in 1998. Edward was employed as an auto mechanic for over 30 years with Lauson Chevrolet and later Maritime Ford until his retirement.
Survivors include three children: Harold Kobes, Tisch Mills, Gloria LeQue, and special friend Kevin, Manitowoc, Ronald and Peggy Kobes, Maribel; three grandchildren: Michelle, Tammy and Brian; five great-grandchildren: Ashley, Jimmy, Johnny, Tommy and Joey; one great great-grandchild: Jayden. He is further survived by special family friends: Marilyn and Peter Burish, Manitowoc and Bob Budnik, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews other relatives and friends also survive. Edward was preceded in death by his parents: Bart and Theresa Kobes, his wife: Dolores, one son: Donald; three brothers; two sisters and one brother-in-law.
Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Calvary Chapel and Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Alan Boeldt. Military rites will be accorded by V.F.W. Otto Oas Post #659.
