FORSYTH -- Isabelle Sand Crane Scott, 80, of Forsyth, formerly of the Birney and Lame Deer areas, died Tuesday evening, April 12, 1994, in the Rosebud County Health Care Center.

She was born March 16, 1914, in Birney, a daughter of Charles and Nellie Kills Back Sand Crane. She was raised in a traditional Indian home, learning the many special activities associated with her father, as the Keeper of the Sacred Hat for the Northern Cheyenne Tribe.

Isabelle married Albert Long Jaw Sr. and was later divorced. She married Don Scott and he died in 1970. She resided in Lame Deer for many years before entering the nursing home in Forsyth.

She was a member of the Catholic Church.

Survivors include three sons, Michael Bryant Sr. of Lame Deer, Frank Long Jaw Sr. of Busby, and Albert Long Jaw Jr. of Warm Springs, Ore.; one daughter, Anna Mae Long Jow of Albuquerque, N.M.; 10 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Lame Deer Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Fr. Dan Crosby officiating. Wake services will be held Friday evening in teh church. Interment will be in the Birney Cemetery with Bullis Mortuary of Hardin entrusted with the arrangements.--The Billings Gazette, 15 April, 1994.
