Ray passed over on Sunday morning in Roundup, Montana. He was in the comfort of his wife Cindy and his daughters Lou Ann Irby and Carmma Rae Irby. His survivors include 8 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren, his two sisters, Jean Freih and Dorothy Meinke and many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his son, Peter Ray Irby; brothers Gordon, Joseph and Clifford Odee, and James Oral; his sister Jan; his parents William and Susie Irby and several nephews.

Ray loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing and shooting. He was defined by his badge and was regarded as one of the most highly respected Sheriff's Deputy you could have on an armed call. Being a deputy for the Gallatin County Sheriff's Department and serving the people of Gallatin County was his life, his ambition and his greatest joy.

Please join us in honoring his life, the impact he made on all of us and countless others we will never know. He is remembered for his sense of humor, his endless stories and his amazing soul. His spirit will enhance the stars as they shine brighter for our pleasure.
