Joseph Basil Irby, 72, of 308 W. Hackberry, Duncan, OK., died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997, at Duncan Regional Hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Irby was born June 23, 1925, in Heart, AK.,m living in the Mansfield area most of his life. He retired from General Motors in 1987 after 33 years of service. he was a member of the 32 degree Scottish Rite. He enjoyed Huntin, Fishin, Little Children and Little Dogs.

Surviving are three brothers, Gordon irby of Wenatchee, Washington, Clifford O. & Glenda Irby of Moreno Valley, CA and Ray E. & City Irby of Bozeman, Montana; three sisters, Dorothy Meinke & Jeanette Treichel of Duncan, OK and Jean Freih of Dana Point, CA; numerous friends. He was preceded in deaty by his parents, William and Susie Irby; his wife, Jean Irby.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at the Wappner Funeral Directors. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.
