A member of the Holston Creek Baptist church, where he had been a deacon for the past 10 years.
Survived by his wife, Martha McAbee Lister; five sons, L. T. Lister, Rev. William Lister, Sgt. Oscar Lister, J. P. Lister, and Sgt. Carl Lister; five daughters, Elsie Smith, Minnie Atkins, H. P. White, Ruth Whitaker, and Mrs. J. R. Alverson; brother, P. J. Lister; sister, Minnie Mae Lister Ingle; and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Houston Creek Baptist Church, Rev. Clarence Hughes and Rev. Francis Cunningham; interment in the church cemetery.
