Mr. Aylward was the ground and building superintendent for Lakeside Home of Warwick and with Dr; John I. Pinckney, developed, built and operated the first mobile X-ray unit in the U.S. for the Providence Tuberculosis League in 1942. Mr. Aylward retired from the league in 1963.
He was born in Pawtucket, a son of the late William H. and Mabel E. (Church) Aylward, and had lived in Lincoln 25 years, previously living in Warwick for many years.
He was past president of the Fairlawn Bowling League of Pawtucket.
He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Helen A. Smith of Lincoln; a brother Frank R. Aylward of Pawtucket; two sisters, Mrs. Mary E. Hunt of South Attleboro and Mrs. Myra E. Wright of Seekonk; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the James L. Tucker Funeral Home, 649 Putnam Ave; Greenville, followed by cremation at Swan Point, Providence.
