William H Aylward, Sr., husband of Mable E. (Church) Aylward, 299 Prospect Heights, died early yesterday after a brief illness. He was 78.
A native of Milford, Mass., he had lived in Pawtucket for 50 years. He was a member of the New England Order of Protection.
Survivors, besides his wife, include four sons, William H., Jr., of San Antonio, Tex.; Alfred B. of Hoxie, Frank R. of Central Falls, George A. Aylward, machinist mate second class with the Navy at Camp Thomas; five daughters, Mrs. Estelle Brien, Mrs. Mable Anderson, Mrs. Mary Hunt, Miss Ruth Aylward, Mrs. Myra Wright, all of Pawtucket; one sister, Mrs. James Ray of South Weymouth, Mass., and 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'colock at St. Paul's Church. Rev. Leon H. Plante, assistant rector, will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
