Dorothy Ann (Holdorf) Singleton, age 75, of Modesto, died Aug. 8, 2006, at Kaiser South Sacramento, Calif.

Mrs. Singleton was born Feb. 28, 1931, a native of Manitowoc, and resided in Modesto, Calif. for the last five years. After her marriage to her husband, Robert Alan Singleton, on Jan. 14, 1950, they lived in Alameda, Fremont, Mission San Jose, Pine Mountain Lake, and then Modesto, Calif.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years: Robert A. Singleton of Modesto; children: Charlotte and her husband: Jerry Fain of Blaine Wash.; Richard and his wife: Susan Singleton of Matthews, N.C.; Carolynn Hardcastle of Modesto, Calif.; and Cheryie and her husband: Pete Tomiello of Riverbank, Calif. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Jacqueline Lee Singleton. She is survived by her grandchildren: Nathan Nuesse and CheraJoy Nuesse; Amanda Miller, Joshua Miller, AmyJean Ann Hitchcock; Jackie and Jacob Brown: Justin Strataton and Jesse Tomiello; and her great-grandchildren: Timothy, Alanna, Camille, Ethan and Ella. She is also survived by her brother: Jerome and his wife: Emily Holdorf; nieces: Geri, Cindy and Sandy, and preceded in death by Nancy; sister in law: Barbara and her husband: Earl Kelly; niece and nephew: Vicki and Michael. A special goodbye to her aunt: Elaine (Vandehay) Theroux and her family of Green Bay and Seymour; cousin: Carol (Sobiesky) McGaffey of Manitowoc; and very good friend: Marion (McClure) Hill of Green Bay, and her daughter: Lynn Sleeper of Elk Grove, Calif.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents: Mabel (Vandehey) and Elmer Holdorf of Manitowoc; and mother-in-law: Trudy and father-in-law: Frank Singleton of California.

There will be no services at this time, and her burial will be in the family plot in Kossuth.
